Directions: If coming in on Route 70 or 78 exit at New Stanton. Follow route 119 to Connellsville. From Connellsville take route 201 North 1.5 mi. Go right on Adelade Road 1.5 mi. to campground entrance. Standard back in sites have full hookups at $39.00 per nite. River sites and pull-thru's are higher. If we use 14 - 17 sites there will be a 15 per cent discount. There are 7 cabins of various sizes available.

Schedule of Activities

Sun. 13: Check in: 1:00 p.m. Short ride from campground to Dunbar to see recreation of coke oven. Dinner at place to be determined.

Mon. 14: Ride Ohiopyle to Confluence 22mi. rt. Lunch in Confluence or bag lunch if you prefer. Sight see in Ohiopyle, walk to Ferncliff peninsula, drive up to Cucumber Falls or Waterslide.

Tues. 15: Drive to Pittsburgh. Park at Pumphouse in Homestead. Bike to Station Square. Return down trail to Haufbrauhaus for lunch. Following lunch, return to Pumphouse parking, and return to Connellsville. 20mi. rt.

Wed. 16: Free Day to relax, sightsee, kayak or canoe, zipline.

Thurs. 17: Ride Adelade to Smithton 34 mi. rt. or less if you wish.
Leave Riversedge by 12:00 noon. Travel to Pioneer Park for check in after 3:00 p.m.

Thurs - Sun September 17, 18 ,19, and 20 we will camp at Pioneer Park, leaving on Monday, September 21.

Full hookups, water, cable, electric and sewer $44.00 per nite. Cabins $130.00 per nite. Three cabins are available.

Schedule of Activities

Fri. 18: Ride Garrett to Big Savage Tunnel, 30 mi. rt. See tunnel, Meyersdale, Salisbury and Keystone Viaducts, Meyer Cemetary, Eastern Continental Divide, Mason-Dixon Line. Bag lunch or lunch in Myersdale on return trip.

Sat. 19: Drive to Cumberland, MD to pick up tickets for WMSR by 10:30. Board bikes and train for 11:30 departure for Frostburg. Lunch in Frostburg or bag lunch and sightsee if you wish. Return to trail for 17 mi. downhill ride back to Cumberland.

Sun. 20: Free day to relax or sightsee. Potluck, and campfire in evening, weather permitting.

Mon. 21: We leave for home or other adventures.

We will have campfires every evening.

Sightseeing possibilities:

  • Flight 93 National Memorial.
  • Johnstown Flood Museum at Johnstown, NPS site at St Michaels dam site.
  • Johnstown Heritage Discovery Center.
  • Frank Loyd Wright's Fallingwater.
  • Frank Loyd Wright's Kentuck Knob.
  • Rafting or canoeing at Ohiopyle, or from Connellsville to Riversedge Campground.
  • Riversedge has canoes or kayaks for rent if you don't wish to bring yours.
  • Zipline at Ohiopyle or Hidden Valley.
  • Hiking at Ferncliff or other nearby trails.

Please bring replacement tubes for your bikes and a universal tool for minor bike adjustments.
