Folks on Spokes
Gulf Shores, Alabama

February 1 - 14, 2016

February 2 was a warm day with thunderstorms forecast. Obviously FOS think they could outsmart the weatherman and get in a ride.

Not only did we get in a 22 mile ride, we had a wonderful lunch at Doc's Seafood in Gulf Shores. Arrived back at GSP without any rain!

Carl seems to be waiting for that cute waitress to take his order!

February 4 and Jim, Allan and Bob are ready to roll!

Who says you can't be fashionable AND warm. Don't you love these colorful FOS?

Riding The Backcountry Trail in cool weather always makes for a good ride. We are on our way for ice cream(did I say ice cream?) at our favorite Gulf Shores soda shop.

Friday, Feb. 5, a few FOS decided to kayak Wolfs Creek. Karen, Carl and Jim are enjoying the paddle.

We found a peaceful cove to take a little break. Karen, Jim, JoAnn and Sarah, Carl and Beth had a great day.

Jim is detailing our ride on Feb. 6. We're on our way to Brat Fest in Gulf Shores.

FOS stop on Back Country Trail for a picture. What a beautiful day!

The Brat Fest was well attended and our FOS ate their share of Brats. What a great way for snowbirds to give back to the community!

Mardi Gras was celebrated at Cosmo's. We had chilly temperatures so we decided to skip the early morning parade and head straight to our lunch venue.

No doubt the FOS gang needed hot gumbo to warm the chilly day.

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) gave us all an excuse to indulge. Anyone for King Cake?

February 10 found FOS ready to ride to Fairhope. What a great day...sunshine and warmer temperatures signaled a perfect ride.

No doubt we found Fairhope at the peak of their tulips blooming season!

FOS gathered for campfire Feb. 12. We declared a Soup and Salad night since our indulgence on Fat Tuesday.

Looks like Linda, Bernie and Sue have settled in for the evening!

Karen and Sue seem to be discussing the finer points of photography. JoAnn wants no part of this discussion.

Hey Morrie! That flag looks great! Keep it flying.

Donna is our official stress reliever. If you haven't received one of her massages, you're not FOS!

Jean and Allen are getting into the FOS routine.

Steve and Linda are settled in for campfire and good food.

Bernie and Sue seem to think we need more wood in the fire.

Molly and Malcolm always have a FOS smile.

Dave wants to know if the coffee is ready...Donna just wants hot soup.

Hey Darrold...does Nancy know you are talking to her?

Marilyn and Joe are just relaxing and taking a break from the week's activities.

Hey Morrie. We thought Mary had already told you about waving that flag until the sun goes down!

JoAnn and Warren were recognized as our couple married longer than the rest of us...do we have a need to follow suit? You bet!

Finally, a picture of Carl, Beth and Rusty. Do they love campfires??? It seems so!

February 13 ride was a bit chilly, but we had lots of FOS ready to hit the trails.

Following a ride through the park and Orange Beach trails, FOS had a picnic lunch at the Butterfly House.

Sue and Donna are ready to ride a few more miles following lunch.

"Lefty" and her babies entertained us as we ride the Rosemary Dunes trail.
