March 2018

FOS gather for a paddle on the Fish River.

Warm weather and sunny skies made for perfect paddling conditions on Fish River.

Sue says she’s going under!

So many places to explore!

Lunch at Big Daddy’s following our paddle on the Fish River keeps Ted, Tom and Chris smiling.

FOS riders gather to listen for the route to our picnic destination.

After riding our miles we gathered at the picnic shelter on Lake Shelby for lunch.

Bruce and Bobbi join the group after their winter trip to Florida.

Sharon and Mark enjoy lunch while catching up on all the news.

Everyone seems content to sit and visit for a while.

Sixteen FOS did a sunset/night ride to Tacky Jacks.

The evening was beautiful...a perfect time for snacks and visiting with friends.

The menu at Tacky Jacks had something for everyone.

Beth and Carl are ready for the ride home in the dark.

Jim gathers the FOS riders before our ride to GT’s in Orange Beach for lunch.

Ardie joins the group today after returning from her trip to Arizona.

GT’s was a good destination for lunch as our FOS group is quite large.

Looks like everyone is hungry after the ride.

One group of FOS riders stopped for a picture on their way to GT’s in Orange Beach.

A warm day in March gave FOS paddlers a chance to explore Cotton Bayou in Orange Beach.

Sixteen paddlers joined the fun as they explored Cotton Bayou.

Chris decided to explore one of the inlets to Cotton Bayou.

FOS stopped for a picture on their way Matt’s in Gulf Shores for ice cream.

Bernie, in the running for our future leader position of FOS, showing his MACHO.

Our 50+ gathering ready to ride to Rattlesnake Trail FOS Bench for 10th Anniversary group Photo, this 8th of March, 2018.

As far as you can see, fun loving and energetic FOS gathered for a group photo by Dan Back.

The Faster group stopped to enjoy the beauty of the trail near CG Headquarters. Not only is the scenery beautiful but the ladies are looking exceptionally luscious. Ahh, the men, not so much, but they do look healthy!

I had to take a picture from both ends of the bike line-up to capture the full scope of 50 bikes waiting for their riders. We were waiting for the group to form around our FOS bench for 10th Anniversary Photo.

A shot from the other end of the bike line-up.

Ten years and ten thousand memories. Our FOS family has certainly grown in numbers!

A beautiful evening in March to enjoy a campfire at Jim and Karen’s site.

Ardie, Dorothy and Kim are enjoying the sunshine and exercise. Go FOS!

Mary helps our FOS ladies attach a yellow daisy to the back of their bikes. Thanks for keeping the tradition alive, Mary!

FOS rode to the Orange Beach Arts Fair. It seems the Fair was invaded by Star Wars characters.

May the Force Be With You, Carl and Beth.

Karen and Jim toast FOS wearing their new hats.

WOW, FOS invades BIG WAVE DAVE’S Kitchen and Bar as we ‘initiate’ this brand new place to eat, just off the Rosemary Trail, OB.

BIG WAVE DAVE’S was a very good venue for this 50+ sized group, free popcorn and appetizer made the short wait very pleasant.

Just had to share this ‘treasure picture’ of the bike line-up at lunch and this isn’t all of them. FUN and EXERCISE goes hand in hand with this great group of FOS Friends. Oh yes, we enjoy eating, too.

We loaded our kayaks and caravaned to Soldier Creek for a 2.5 mile paddle up and back from a launch point at the end of State St. near the Perdido Beach Town Offices.
