December 2016

This is our first ride of the year, with Ardith and Kim who have since returned to snowy Michigan.

This is from the power line parallel to campground where it joins the new wooden trail.

This is the new wooden trail paralleling Possum Rd, and ends at the entry Office/ Water tower.

Eight of us enjoyed a 20 mile ride amidst beautiful conditions. Mid way another group of 8 joined us at the butterfly house for a little 'NIP' of Christmas cheer. It seemed wonderfully normal and refreshing that most all people we met were anxious to greet with a hearty "MERRY CHRISTMAS". There were lots of people using the trails today.

Yes, the alligators are still here.

New Years Eve, a great day for a FOS ride.
Even though rain threatened, 13 FOS braved the challenge riding 20 miles through GS community to the Beach for a lunch picnic. It was fun having the new (although short term) Michigan friends join us for the tour of the area. We missed the celebratory 'NIP' on the trail to get back before the rain hit us, BUT it will be held in reserve for a later celebration of the New Year. Tonight's CAYMEN GRILL dinner with 22 FOS planned will be a good way to bring 2016 to a close with the best of very energetic fun loving friends.
Notice the mountain of sand adjacent to our beach picnic area where a Beach Park expansion is underway utilizing more of the BP money. The project is called GULF PARK expansion.

The Caymen Grille, once again served as a fine place to celebrate days gone by of 2016 and ushering in the New Year 2017 with good FOS friends and good food. We are all looking forward to a lot of fun BIKING in this new 2017
